There is more and more evidence about the benefit of coconut water on the body and helping to keep it in a state of alkalinity, so we can live without disease and inflammation. It has a balancing effect on the body as we live in a society of lifestyles that are often creating acidity in our bodies, when we use things like flour, sugar, pop, processed foods.

Coconut water has so many benefits. It contains B vitamins, minerals and selenium, iodine, enzymes and amino acids. It also is great for anti-aging and has plant hormones that regulate aging.

It is very easily digested and is great any time of day. I love to have some after a workout or in the evening. It soothes the digestive system and can help to eliminate toxins. After a workout the coconut water replaces potassium that we lose during a cardio workout or other types of fitness.

It helps to reduce high blood pressure if taken regularly and also helps with insulin resistance. It is also effective in lowering cholesterol and offering a restful sleep at night.

It can also be taken intravenously with a little sodium, if traditional IV therapy is not working well. There is a study of a person given coconut water IV to help with a stroke.

So the benefits of coconut water continue to grow.
